Counselling Philosophy
You and I have our own life stories. Despite our differences, we are nonetheless individuals needing to be heard, understood, supported and loved. However, regardless of who we are, these common needs may sometimes be unmet due to a myriad of reasons. We are no stranger to this and it becomes particularly painful when we are faced with a perplexing conundrum, only to know that we are unable to turn to our friends or loved ones for help. Worse, we start turning against ourselves.
Counsellor's Commitment
The counsellor is committed to creating a safe space for you to talk about your problems. He is willing to journey with you, provide you with the needed listening ear and explore solutions and alternatives to your problems. He respects individuality and diversity and ultimately focuses on your internal strength and resources to resolve your issues as healing takes place.
Counselling Approaches
Counselling approaches and therapeutic interventions will vary with individual needs and assessment – considerations will be given to issues you are facing, suitability of the approach, readiness and prior consent. The core therapeutic approaches include second and third wave cognitive behavioural therapy, choice theory and reality therapy, Gottman Method couple therapy, solution-focused brief therapy and narrative therapy.

Paying Forward
Apart from counselling and psychotherapy, Kenneth is currently volunteering at Montfort Care Active Ageing Centre and St. Joseph Home, bringing therapeutic harp music to the elderly.
He is neither a performer nor a music therapist. In this field of work, he calls himself either as a healthcare musician or a therapeutic harper.
He believes in making live therapeutic music accessible to everyone – the rich and the poor; the living and the dying; even the animals too. It is the therapeutic presence and connection that matter.
To see what he does, please follow his Instagram at kenneth_ng77.
Thank you.
P.S. He is a self-taught harper. His primary instrument is the piano, in which he has obtained a licentiate diploma (LTCL) in piano recital.
